3/2 - Happy Weekend
I don't think anyone can tell you how rewarding being a mother
will be, in the same breath no one can tell you how hard it is
either. No one ever said, "Be prepared to be selfless and be
prepared for the most amazing love in the world for one human
being." No handbook for this, that I can find. Not one that truly
prepares you for what's ahead.
The closest I get is my girlfriends and fellow mommies. We share
stories or talk about parenting woes and gleeful moments. Our
playgroup is sometimes a place where just watching someone elses'
child have a full on meltdown can make you feel better just so you
know your isn't the only one.
Last night, Gracie boldly picked her nose and held out her hand to
give me the beloved booger. Never did I realize how much gross
stuff I would hold in my hand and be okay with.....but I promptly
told her to get a tissue, instead she found a plastic water bottle
sitting on the counter. When she told me where she'd placed it, I
told her that wansn't exactly what I meant by a tissue. "But
mommy," she said, "you're going to cycle it..."
Yes, I was. Are boogers recycleable?
